Seasons of the Spirit is a lectionary-based resource created by an international team of writers and editors representing denominations from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA and the UK.
The vision of the Seasons of the Spirit creators is to provide God's people with lectionary-based, ecumenical resources that empower all ages to be transformed in Christ as they:
. explore meaning and mystery in the Bible;
. celebrate in worship, sacraments, education, and service;
. engage in ministries of love, justice, and witness;
. and live in inclusive communities of faith, shaped and led by the Holy Spirit.
"Lectionary-based" means the curriculum follows a three-year cycle of readings from Hebrew Scripture, Psalms, Gospels and Epistles used by many denominations. The preaching at Central is primarily lectionary-based so it is common for the experience in Sunday school to be related to the liturgy and preaching in worship.
Wednesdays at 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
The Wednesday Night Book Study reads and discusses a variety of books significant to faith. See the weekly calendar for the book title and reading schedule for the current book.
